Hands up if you have ever used one of those standard “Coming Soon” or “Under Construction” pages you found laying around on your server. I am sure most people have done this, and at the end of the day we do not always have the time to be creating unique coming soon pages for every client.
When a website is going to take quite some time to build it could be a better idea to focus just a little more attention on the holding page. Sure a standard coming soon page will suffice for up to a few days but if you are looking to take weeks or even months on the development of a website, then you should give a little TLC to your clients holding page. This week we have been really lucky to have been presented with the opportunity of interviewing Graphic Designer Paula Norris. Paula is the full time designer behind the well known brand Glasses Direct. Through this interview we are able to learn from her inspiring story and useful advice for those designers out there who may be at the beginning of their design career.
A lot of business owners are still reaping the rewards from the creation of the Internet and these rewards in the form of increased sales and brand awareness are showing no signs of slowing down, in fact Internet trends are still growing and for that reason it is more important than ever for a new business to make their own mark with the design and development of their own online presence.
Each month we interview a business owner who obviously uses design services on a regular basis. We do this to try and help ourselves and our readers to understand “the client” and how we can change ourselves to combat some of the problems faced by clients when approaching designers and design firms. By listening more closely to our clients there are many things which we can learn and hopefully use to make ourselves more appealable to the client.
