On Thursday evening this week I had great pleasure in presenting the “Make Money on eBay” workshop to a room filled with fantastic people who I am sure will go on to creating a really profitable business with the help and support from their e factor business mentor.
As the room was so full, I do know that some of you right at the back may have found it harder to hear me and see the screen. So for that reason I thought I would do a recap on yesterday’s workshop and include all of those useful links which some of you were unable to scribble down.
To make it easier for you, I have converted the whole presentation in to a PDF download so that you can go through all of the slides again in your own time and at your own pace.

Your eBay Store Useful Jargon
And for those of you who didn’t manage to scribble down the answers to the eBay jargon quiz, here are the answers -
Bid: telling eBay’s system the maximum price you are prepared to pay for an item.
Dutch: an auction where more than one of an item is available.
Feedback: positive or negative comments left about other users on eBay.
Mint: in perfect condition.
Non-paying bidder: a bidder who wins an auction but does not then go on to buy the item.
PayPal: an electronic payment method accepted by most sellers.
Reserve: the minimum price the seller will accept for the item.
Shill bid: a fake bid placed by a seller trying to drive up their auction’s price.
Snail Mail: the post, which is obviously very slow compared to email.
Sniping: bidding at the last second to win the item before anyone else can
BIN: Buy it Now. A fixed price auction.
BNWT: Brand New With Tags. An item that has never been used and still has its original tags.
BW: Black and White. Used for films, photos etc.
FC: First Class. Type of postage.
HTF: Hard To Find. Not quite as abused as ‘rare’, but getting there.
NIB: New in Box. Never opened, still in its original box.
NR: No Reserve. An item where the seller has not set a reserve price.
OB: Original Box. An item that has its original box (but might have been opened).
PM: Priority Mail
PP: Parcel Post
SH: Shipping and Handling. The fees the buyer will pay you for postage.
VGC: Very Good Condition. Not mint, but close.
I really hope you enjoyed this workshop and don’t forget to head down to the e factor center to receive support from a business coach.
Good luck with your new business

This is very useful. Great post Michelle!
Hello, I hope that you don’t mind me asking but is this site using wordpress and if so is it a standard theme or one you designed yourself? I like wordpress but don’t like the way that most sites look like, well – wordpress! I’d love to have a site that looks like yours! Can you reveal your secret? Thanks, S x
Hi
Yes this is a wordpress blog but with my own custom theme
You can get your own theme designed and coded and it will not cost you the earth. There are plenty of designers who read Kaplang, so why not post a project on our job board and I am sure someone will be in touch.
Hi, I like your site and think you have some very interesting topics, I’ll be sure to add you to my favourites. Many Thanks,Elizabeth
Great post! keep on updating us.
Great post! You have listed some excellent resources, shame I couldn’t have been at your workshop.
Not too sure how I found this blog but glad I did.
Just what I’ve been looking for, thanks
