Tips on Photography & Photoshop From David Pix

diopter1Hi, I’m David Pix and this is the first of my tips on Photography and Photoshop for you.  Over the coming weeks I’ll be writing and posting some really simple tips that will improve your photography and help you to deliver a higher percentage of great photos…

These tips can be used by the absolute beginner up to advanced.

So let’s get started…

The first thing to do to take professional shots is to get your settings correct, there are 10 professional settings to get correct and once you have these mastered your photography will improve 100%.

My first tip is setting your Diopter. The diopter is located on your viewfinder, I’ll just explain why this is so important, if you can imagine being at an event, we look through the viewfinder rather than have a live view of the event we are photographing, and the reason behind this is simple, if we have a live view and we go into the sun you will not have a true image of how your photo will turn out, meaning we wont be able to see the a true image of what we are photographing.

A professional always uses the viewfinder, inside the viewfinder is also all the information we need to get a perfect photo as well. (F stop, speed, ISO ect ) The diopter is located on the viewfinder, this is a small dial that can be turned, place your eye on the viewfinder and turn this until everything is clear, if you wear glasses you will need to decide if you will be wearing them or take them off to shoot.

The most important thing to check is to make sure the information inside the camera is clear, if that info is clear then your photos will be clear as well.

Thanks for your time and the best of luck with your photos.. David Pix
